* 1 cup toor daal
* Carrot, onion, brinjal, tomato, capsicum
* 3 garlic cloves and 1 small piece of ginger
* A little tamarind
* Water
* 2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 cup oil
* 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
* 2 red chillies
* A few curry leaves
* Sambar powder

Instructions:
Wash one cup of toor daal [00:18].
Chop all the vegetables into small pieces and crush the ginger and garlic [00:24].
Add the washed toor daal, all the chopped vegetables, tamarind, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 5 cups of water into a pressure cooker [00:55].
Cook in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes [01:25].
In a separate pan, add 1/4 cup of oil [01:28], 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, 2 red chillies, and a few curry leaves [01:34].
Once the mustard seeds start to crackle, add this mixture to the sambar [01:37].
Add 2 tablespoons of sambar powder to the sambar [01:51].
Mix everything and let it boil for 5 minutes [01:58].
